In these forces for their very survival.

In the third chapter for book one, the focus of this book is
naturism.  The naturistic theory is the
principal phenomena of nature which is the infinity of time, space, and force
is sufficient to directly arouse religious ideas in the mind.  Religion itself begins only when these
natural forces begin being represented in the mind in an abstract form and they
are transformed into personal, conscious spirits or gods.  This religion is the cult of nature that may
be addressed and this transformation is achieved by language.  The earliest classes of natural phenomena
were metaphors for the human action of a river was “something that moves
steadily,” the wind was “something that sighs or
whistles,”.  These metaphors came to
be taken literally and the natural forces were naturally conceived as the
product of being powerful.  This theory
is a is purely a secondary development and it is unable to face the fact of
death that the men postulated their possession of an immortal soul.  This is a separation from the body that was
gradually drawn into the circle of divine beings and eventually deified.

Durkheim’s major objection was that
the naturistic theory would reduce religion to little more than a system of
hallucinations.  He admitted that
primitive peoples reflect upon the forces of nature from an early period and
they depend on these forces for their very survival.  The reflections of this theory could hardly
be the source of religious ideas and the conception of the nature of such
forces.

Naturism plays a role in my life it
means that you are free and free to be who you are. The word naturism comes
from the world naturist.  A naturist
could be used an example of being in this world being nude and free.  This plays a part in today’s world because of
example nude beaches.  The people who go
to these beaches are expressing their freedom and not wearing any clothes.  Personally, I would not like to go to places like
this as they would make me feel uncomfortable but everyone has different
opinions.  The people who want to go to a
nude beach are comfortable with themselves and others.
